Compliance & Regulation

Is DPP already mandatory for us, and what's the real EU deadline?

Not yet. DPP for textiles is expected to become mandatory around 2027. But material being produced now often doesn't reach stores until 12 to 18 months later, so if you wait for the deadline itself, the material you're making today is already behind.

What happens if we don't comply, will buyers just stop placing orders?

That's between you and your buyer, we can't speak for how any individual buyer will respond. What we can say is that sourcing is already shifting from "what's your price" to "can you prove what you did," and buyers are increasingly favouring suppliers who can already answer that, well ahead of any hard legal deadline.

Compliance isn't mandatory until 2027, why start now?

Because material being produced now won't reach stores until 12 to 18 months later. Data can only be captured at the moment of production, not after, so if you wait for the deadline to start, the batches you're making right now will already be out of reach by the time it lands.

What's locked in already versus still likely to change in the technical spec?

The direction is locked: product-level traceability, verified production data, DPPs tied to specific batches. The exact technical detail, like which data fields end up mandatory, is still being finalised, so those specifics can still shift before it's formally adopted.

If the final rules end up different, does our existing data need to be redone?

No. The DPP is just a format, what matters is the data underneath it. AWARE™ captures your production data once, at the source, and that same data can be used for whatever any regulation ends up needing.

What are the benefits of complying with EU DPP and other sustainability regulations?

Beyond staying eligible to sell into the EU and US, being proof-ready protects the orders you already have. Buyers are moving away from suppliers who can only tell a story about their materials, toward ones who can prove it instantly. It also cuts the cost of the current system, one verified record instead of repeating the same data across every portal that asks for it.

What happens if EU regulations change in the future? Will the platform be updated accordingly?

Yes. AWARE™ captures your core data once, and that data can be used for whatever's asked of it, current or future regulations. If a new regulation or format shows up, AWARE™ generates what's needed from that same data, you're not starting over each time.
