When to update tokens
Update tokens after you finish production of a fabric batch, before shipping to your customer.
Typical flow:
Receive yarn tokens from your suppliers
Use that yarn to produce fabric
Production complete → Update tokens now (link yarn to fabric)
Ship fabric to customer and send them the updated token
How to update tokens
Go to: Update > Update Tokens
1. Select Token Type

2. Add Fabric Details
Fill in the physical details of your fabric.

Total weight
Enter the total weight of the fabric batch in kg.
Important: This is net weight only. Include the fabric itself, exclude packaging.
Need to convert from meters or yards?
Calculate: Weight per m² (or yard) × total m² (or yards) = total kg
Example:
Fabric weight: 200 grams/m²
Batch size: 5,000 m²
Calculation: 0.2 kg/m² × 5,000 = 1,000 kg total
Fabric composition
Click "Add Composition"
A side menu opens. Declare what your fabric is made of.
[Screenshot: Composition menu]
For each fiber type in your fabric:
Select material from dropdown (organic cotton, recycled polyester, etc.)
Enter percentage (type the number or drag the slider)
Sustainable? Toggle the switch ON if this fiber has a sustainability claim
Select claim type (organic, recycled, etc.)
If recycled: specify post-industrial or post-consumer

Link yarn tokens from suppliers
This is the key step. You're linking the yarn tokens you received to the fabric you produced.
Click "Connect Aware™ Assets and Add Other Materials"
[Screenshot: Link materials interface]
To link yarn tokens:
Toggle "Aware™ Asset" switch ON
Select token type: Yarn
Select the specific yarn tokens you received from your suppliers
Enter amount used from each yarn token
Enter waste (if any)
Token deduction and balance calculate automatically
Click "Add Material"
Repeat for each yarn token you're using in this fabric batch.
The total amount of materials must equal the total fabric weight.
Add other materials (if needed)
If you used materials that aren't on Aware™ (trims, accessories, other fibers), add them manually.
To add unregistered materials:
Leave "Aware™ Asset" switch OFF
Select material type from dropdown
If multiple small components (buttons, zippers, labels), use "Non-Fabric Materials"
Enter material details
Click "Add Material"
3. Tracer Technology
If the yarn tokens you received contain tracer technology, it will show here automatically.
Aware™ Tracer:
If your supplier's yarn contains Aware™ tracer, select it and enter the Tracer Positive Scan Date. No need to upload a test report.

Third-party tracer:
Select "Custom," enter tracer name, and upload the test report.
No tracer? Skip this section.
4. Self Validation (Prove Material Origins)
Self Validation proves the feedstock origin of sustainable fibers in your fabric.
This backs up your sustainability claims with documents.
Click "Add Self Validation"
For each sustainable fiber source, provide:

Mandatory data:
Weight (kg)
Feedstock type (organic cotton, recycled polyester, etc.)
Feedstock supplier type
Supplier name and address
Mandatory uploads:
Invoice
Packing list
Proof of delivery
Optional but recommended:
Certifications, lab tests, additional documents
Declaration:
Enter your full name and check the box to confirm the information is accurate.
5. Company Compliances
This page shows your factory certifications (from your KYB profile).
[Screenshot: Company compliances checklist]
Checkboxes are ON by default = certifications will appear in the Digital Product Passport (DPP).
Don't want to show a certification? Uncheck the box.
Missing a certification? Add it through Settings > KYB Profile.
6. Review and Submit
You've completed Step 4B ✓
Next: Step 5: Manager Approval →
Your manager will review the token data before it goes live. Once approved, you can send it to your customer.
